How We Verify the Data
5 min read · Updated 2026-04-14
Primary source
Data originates from BLS OEWS 2024 + O*NET 29.0 (https://www.bls.gov/oes/). This is a publicly released, officially maintained dataset. We do not modify the underlying numbers — only reformat for display and add cross-references.
Validation layer
Every record passes three checks before publish:
- Schema validation: each column conforms to its declared type (number, date, enum, etc.)
- Range checks: numeric values flagged if outside 99.7% (3σ) of the distribution
- Cross-reference: where possible, values are compared against a secondary source for consistency
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us. We review every report within 48 hours. Confirmed corrections are patched in the next rebuild (daily).
What we don't do
We don't estimate, impute, or fill gaps with machine-learned values. Missing data stays missing. This costs us some "completeness" metrics but protects users from synthetic numbers they might mistake for ground truth.
